Here we Go!

................................................................................

Today I want to share with all of you the scrapbooking Layout that I've created to participate in the "Call for the 2° Design Team of CGS" (Carolina Ghelfi Scrapbooking).
To participate I had to choose one case from the web of CSI (Color, Stories, Inspiration) and solve it using CGS products only.

................................................................................

The case I choose was the Case File N° CC-3 and these were the instructions:

................................................................................

I choose a photograph that I considered would work just fine with The Scene of the Case and also with The Scheme.
For the Evidence I used: Paint, Mixed Media Background, Feathers, Twine and Mist/Paint Splatters.
For the Testimony I choose to Handwrite my story.

................................................................................

These are all the CGS products that I choose, thinking that I could use them to solve this case. In the process, I used most of them, but not all! So at the end of this post I will write down a list of all the products that I ACTUALLY used :).

................................................................................

................................................................................

Now let's see the creation process of this LO!
I took photographs of each step, so I will share them here with a brief explanation of what I did.

................................................................................

I started mixing white gesso with some Brumas Brillantes in Brown and Beige. I don't own YET the new Colored Gesso of CGS, so I invented my own :)

................................................................................

I applied the Gesso and Bruma mixture with the CGS Panal Stencil over the Yellow Vacaciones 12'' x 12'' page.
Without moving the Stencil, I applied some Brown Tan Solo Ayer Bruma Brillante.
I moved the Stencil to see how everything was working y then I placed it back in the same place and recover some white spots with Gesso.

................................................................................

After that, I used some Comienzos Yellow Bruma, cleaning with a baby wipe to keep white places white :)

................................................................................

I didn't like the square shape that had come out with the Stencil, so I added more Gesso, using the same Stencil, creating a more irregular shape.

................................................................................

Once the last layer of gesso was dry, I continued adding some Brumas Brillantes. The colors I used were: Lemon Green (Tradiciones) and Turquoise (Comienzos).
I let the colors mix, so a new and brighter green appeared.

................................................................................

While the background was getting dry, I started preparing some embellishments. As the theme of this LO is inspired by nature, I used thee Butterfly die cuts and the Butterfly Stamps.
I applied a thin layer of Gel Medium on the die cut and then I stamped over. This way I got some interesting texture over the butterflies :).

................................................................................

As I added the Brumas Brillantes, these drifted to the lower level, leaving the top clear.
The Brumas I used were: Lemon Green (Tradiciones), Yellow (Vacaciones) and Turquoise (Comienzos).

................................................................................

In another die cut butterfly I applied a layer of gesso and without waiting it to dry I applied Brumas Brillantes in the same colors as I've been using. I used this same technique for the wooden Feather.

................................................................................

I went back to the background and started to play with the composition.
I used to 6'' x 6'' pages, one of the Cactus line and the other of the Hitos line. The colors were great with these palette!
I simply broke some pieces with my hands. I placed these pieces around the spot were I was planning to add my photo and let some bigger pieces for my journaling.

................................................................................

We are coming closer and closer to the end!
At this point I glued everything down.
The butterfly in the bottom is created with two layers of butterflies, wich I curved a little so they could have a 3D look.

................................................................................

I used CGS Alpha Stickers to write the Title. I used the feather as a line.

................................................................................

Finally I writed my Journaling, inspired in the LO itself. Being several hours working on it made me think and feel a lot of beautiful things that turned out in this almost "free poem" :).
I also added some details with the brown pen in the background, the butterfly and the title. And I wrote the date on the top left corner.

................................................................................

And with some twine over here and there I finished the layout.
Y really enjoyed this process and I hope that the result shows my enjoyment.
I want to thank Carolina and the CGS team for this oportunity! All which allows me to create a little more is something to thank. I hope that you have enjoyed this post!
