Rolling Stones ♪♫

¡Hola Bloggers!

.......................................................................

Hi bloggers!
It's been a while since my last post. Today I want to share with you a new CSI case. But first let's chat a little bit!
For those who doesn't know, CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration, "is a scrapbooking challenge that inspires you to try new colors schemes and to tell your stories. Our Case Files provide inspiration that will get you thinking about scrapbooking in a whole new way.
A new Case File opens for investigation the first, second, and fourth Friday evenings of each month at 6:00 p.m. EST. Come join the design team and CSI members in a live chat every reveal night!
CSI is all about inspiration and sharing and, most important, fun! We can't wait to see the stories you'll tell and the art you'll create!". Words of Debbi Tehrani, creator of the site.
And with no further due, let's see this case!:

.......................................................................

This new case is themed by the 4th of July. The colors and others details where great for me to use a photo of the day of The Rolling Stones show in La Plata this past February (2016).
This is how my page turned out:

.......................................................................

This is what I used to solve this case:
  • Used all the five colors.
  • As Evidence I used Stars, Stripes, a Banner, Frames and Wood.
  • For the Testimony I chose to Journal on Stripes.
As I been doing with all my latest LO's, I started working on a white base with Distress Inks.
I wanted to organize the page on a vertical stripe. I normally use almost the same composition, so I wanted to try something different.

.......................................................................

Once the inks dried out, I used Modelling Paste and a mini stars Stencil and paint them all around. I left some space for my title and journaling, but then added little stars all over the page, including on the white background (I love the tone on tone effect).
I also used Modelling Paste and a stripes Stencil to create the lines where I would later write the journaling.

.......................................................................

I cut the photo onto a square (something I do with almost all of my photos in LO's) I used two mats: a white one and a blue one, painted with the same inks as the background.
I glued down the photo with some 3D squares and used Alpha stickers to create the "RS" title (for Rolling Stones) :D
Then I added a striped banner with the exact colors for this case and used 3 wooden shapes to add interest to the title.

.......................................................................

I wrote my journaling on and between the white stripes, distressed the borders of the page and glued it on some craft paper.
With the same blue pen that I used for the journaling, I wrote the date when the photo was taken, and also the place and context :D. I also added the date for the day I created this page at the end of the journaling. I always like to add this to dates, I think that this way more information is provided.

And that's all for today's post!
I hope that you've enjoyed it, thank's for stoping by!
Till next post!

Ser de Tierra

¡Hola Bloggers!

................................................................

Hi bloggers! Happy new week!
I still can't believe that we are already in June. This first half of the year has just flashed by!
Today I want to share a new CSI case, made as a part of the Design Team of the site.
This case is #203 and this is what it's all about:

¡Y así es como lo resolví!
................................................................

And this is how I solved it!

................................................................

I used all five colors and also added white and craft paper.
For the Evidence I used Dots, Scallops, Wood and Heart
For the testimony I was inspired by the idea of writing about a childhood memory (that's me as a 3 year old in the picture :D), but also wanted to write a 6-word memoir.

The journaling says this:

Be dust

Born from water
Live on air

................................................................

I worked on a white watercolor paper and started painting with Distress Inks, using them with water as if they where watercolors. I created several layers of color, playing with transparencies and saturation of color.
When that dried I chose where to place the photo and started adding modelling paste with a stencil of little dots. Then I used another stencil with more little and closer dots (in the last picture you can notice the difference).

................................................................

I continued with the creation of a mat for the photo. I stained it with distress ink in Scattered Straw.
Then I added a scalloped shape as a base for the photo, painted in two of the colors of the case.
I created the title with alpha stickers and pasted them directly on the photo and then wrote the journaling with a combination of more alpha stickers and handwriting, on a post it note.
I addded a little wooden heart near the title, to drive the attention to that place.

Anímense a entrar a CSI y a jugar creando.
¡Nos vemos en el próximo post! Muchas gracias por leer y compartir conmigo virtualmente.
................................................................

I wrote the date of the creation of this LO (as I always do with my scrapbook pages), distressed the sides of the page and pasted it on a craft paper background to frame it. And then I thought the LO was finished :D

I hope you like this and it helps you get inspired for your own creations. Go to CSI and play creating!
See you on the next post, thanks for reading and making me company virtually.

Palace ►

¡Hola bloggers! ¡Y hola Junio!

.......................................................................................

Hi bloggers! And Welcome June!
Today I want to share with you a new CSI Case that I've solved as a part of the Design Team.
This is the Major Case #202. It's open til the end of the month and includes a Sketch for inspiration.
This is what the case is all about:

Y así es como lo resolví!

.......................................................................................

And this is how I solved it!

.......................................................................................

I used all five colors and add a little bit of brown in the title.
As evidence I used: white background, diamonds, speech bubbles, transparent accents (Handmade enamel dots), stamps, stars and Handmade enamel dots.
For the Testimony I journaled about a building in a series of speech bubbles :D

.......................................................................................

I used watercolor paper for the background, that's why it shows a little bit of a texture. I used Gel Medium and a stencil of little stars and filled the background with tiny translucent stars.
When that dried, I started working with distress inks and the little stars started to appear :)
I also used a diamonds stamp with watercolored distress inks.

.......................................................................................

I then glued down the photo and the title.
I also added the speech bubbles with my journaling.

.......................................................................................

I created a lot of enamel dots! I left some of them transparent and the other ones painted in the two shades of blue of this case.
I glued them all around without thinking too much :)
Finally I added some twine.

.......................................................................................

To finish the LO I distressed all the sides of the page, add some distress ink, and glue everything on another paper to create a frame.
And that's all for today! :D
I hope that you enjoy this new case and my work helps to inspirate you.
Read you on the next post, thanks for stopping by!

Simply Amazing

¡Hola Bloggers!

......................................

Hi bloggers!
It's friday! And a new CSI case is revealed. This is #200, that's a lot of cases already!
Here's what this case is all about:

Y así es como lo resolví:

......................................................

And this is how I solved it:

......................................................

I used all five colors.
As evidence I used stars, rectangle alphas, bricks, solid background, buttons and stamps.
For the testimony I chose to write about something that I find Amazing.

......................................................

Detail of the title and photo. That camera is called Blackbird. It's an analogic camera (it uses film) and it's made of plastic. It has two lenses, it's called "twin lens reflex" and one of those lenses shows us what we are pointing at and the other one is the one that exposes the film. Also, it's BLUE and BEAUTIFUL ♥

......................................................

Detail of the journaling, this is what it says: "That's photography. Simply amazing! Being able to froze moments of our lifes in images and that way travel back in time each time that we look at what the light has drawn for us."

......................................................

I created the background from a black page. I painted it with a blue marker, leaving a frame all around the page. It doesn't show very much, but it seams like a glazing that turned out the black a little blue-er (if I can say something like that haha).
Then I used modelling paste and a stencil of little stars. I also created a big textured patch of modelling paste to serve as a base for the other colors.
When that dried, I started to play around with my japanese watercolors: the Gansai Tambi, from Kuretake. These have really beautiful and bright colors, and aren't as transparent as most of the western watercolors.
I mixed yellows and greens to create that bright yellow-green. Then I mixed some turquoise and blue to create the shade of turquoise of the color palette.

......................................................

......................................................

And that's all for the day :)
I hope that you like this Layout and it helps you get inspired. As always, it's a pleasure to be able to share what I create. You can leave me your comments or questions below, I will be glad to read and answer.
See you on the next post!

Cerca ♥

¡Hola bloggers!

..............................................................

Hi Bloggers!
Today I want to share a new CSI case, this is N°199, and it's the first one for me as part of the Design Team of CSI :D
This new Design Team will work from now (May) till October this year. Then it reagrups! Haha.
This is a Major Case so it has attached a sketch to inspire the composition of the LO. You can solve this case until the last day of the month.

..............................................................

Este es el caso N°199:
This is Case N°199.

Y así es como lo resolví!
And this is how I solved it!

..............................................................

I used all five colors.
As Evidence I used: Dandelion Flower (photo), pearls, metal, music notes, circles and transparent stuff.
For the testimony I wrote as Magnetic Poetry. This is what the journaling says:

"Close"

Watch closely
Feel
Watch closely the world
as a mirror
of the Soul

..............................................................

I created the background using gel medium and a stencil of not so sharp circles. On top of that I used distress inks as watercolors and with the blending tool.

..............................................................

I also added thread and some brads. It's quite a simple LO, I did another one before this, but I didn't like it! I think I was a little nervous for being the first case I had to solve as part of the Design Team :)

..............................................................

..............................................................

I'm happy to be able to share this and to have a creative commitment with you and CSI. I hope that it helps you in some way yo see this process. You can ask me anything you want, that's what I'm here for.
Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!

Imperial Love

¡Hola y bienvenida/bienvenido a mi Blog!

............................................................

Hello and Welcome to my Blog!
Today I want to share another CSI Case. This is #197 and includes a Sketch!
Here's what the Case is about:

¡Y así es como lo resolví!

............................................................

And this is how I solved it!

............................................................

I used all five colors of the case, playing with different shades of the colors.
As Evidence I used: Stripes, A little flower, A decorative border (well, not SO decorative, but a border :D), paint and string.
For the Testimony I choose to Tell A humorous Story. With the photo I chose to use, and later the title (that refers to Star Wars), it seemed like the only way to go was HUMOR :D
I flipped the sketch horizontally.

Detalle del título y el beso imperial! Jaja

............................................................

Detail of the title and the Imperial Kiss! Haha

............................................................

The sketch shows two pictures, but I only wanted to use this one. I used the string as a division and create the ilussion of to pictures. I think that it also accentuates the action on the top part of the photo. I don't use lots of embellishments, so I only add the little peace symbol.

............................................................

Detail of the journaling under the photograph. The story alone isn't very funny, it puts the photo in context.

............................................................

The entire background was created by me. I worked on a grey paper and started adding modeling paste with stencils to add texture. Then I worked with Distress Inks, with the blending tool and creating splashes.

............................................................

............................................................

And that's all for today's entry!
I hope you like this post, you can leave a comment if you want to!
See you on the next post!

Into the WILD

¡Bienvenidos y Bienvenidas a mi blog!

.........................................................................................

Welcome to my blog!
Today I want to share a new CSI Case, #195. This is the second part of my request for being part of the Design Team of CSI.
Like in every CSI Case, there are certain rules to follow, but there are always so many options so I never feel limited. On the contrary, each case invites me to try new things.

.........................................................................................

Esto es lo que propone el Caso #195:

.........................................................................................

This is what Case #195 proposes.

.........................................................................................

And this is what I did:
  • I used all five colors, adding white.
  • As evidence I used Stripes, a Polaroid Frame, Little Brads, Buttons, Ink Splats and Vellum.
  • For the Testimony, I was inspired by the words Friendship and Childhood to write my journaling. They also inspired me to choose my photo, the starting point of all my LOs.

.........................................................................................

Aquí tienen el LO terminado :)

.........................................................................................

Here's the finished page :)

.........................................................................................

I started on a white background that was originally 12 x 12 in. I took 1/2 an inch from two sides (up and left), so I could later paste the entire page on a 12 x 12 in patterned page to create an interesting frame.
I created the entire background using Distress Inks as watercolours. The stripes were made with a stancil and some more distress ink. All the blue border was also created with distress ink.

.........................................................................................

As I almost always do, I created a mini cluster to balance the big primary cluster where the photo, the title and the journaling are. In general, like this time to, I used that mini cluster to write the date when the LO was created.

.........................................................................................

Another thing that I like to do is overlaying papers and group elements. In this picture you can see the buttons and mini brad cluster, and the different layers of paper, including the photo.

.........................................................................................

Another thing I usually do is adding extra information, generally the date or place where the photograph was taken, somewhere near the photo. I don't write that extra info horizontally (the way we normally read) so it follows the direction of some element and goes a little more unnoticed.

It was kinda difficult to capture in photos the vellum paper, but if you look closely you can see the shadow that the paper creates on the background.

I hope that you like this new page and it helps you to try something new. Don't hesitate on participating in the CSI site, it's a wonderfull creative platform. You don't need to share your work online if you don't feel like it yet, but ut list you can participate "from the shadows" (hahaha) so you can get those creative juices flowing.
